The aim of World Religion Day, held on the third Sunday in January every year, is to promote inter–faith understanding and harmony. Through a variety of events held around the globe, followers of every religion are encouraged to acknowledge the similarities that different faiths have.
As part of UN 16 Days of campaigning against gender–based violence Akidwa and Dublin City Interfaith Forum are organising a seminar to explore effective ways of addressing gender–based violence.
People of all faiths will gather together to share our appreciation, love, and care for our planet and its inhabitants.
This colorful celebration will include reflections and prayers from our diverse faith traditions, music, and songs, silent time and presentations from a range of inspiring speakers.
The Five Marks of Interfaith Understanding offers us a number of attainable practical steps towards adopting the Dublin City Interfaith Charter and they suggest ways in which we can work together with our friends in World Faiths other than our own to develop a discourse of relationship and interest in one another.
